The BJP in New Delhi said Arvind Kejriwal’s income went up a lot. They said his income was about 45 lakhs in 2020-2021 but only about 1.5 lakhs the year before. They are wondering how his income jumped so much since he said his only income is his salary as a Delhi MLA.
The AAP party defended Kejriwal saying he’s been a chief minister and an IRS officer. They point out that he doesn’t own a house or car even though he could. They say this shows he’s not focused on money and is dedicated to serving the people.
This is basically a political fight. The BJP is asking questions about Kejriwal’s money while the AAP is trying to show he’s a simple person. The big thing is the big jump in income between those two years that the BJP is focusing on.
