Jamshedpur: On Tuesday, three waggons from a goods train derailed at the Tatanagar yard, disrupting train operations. According to a news release from the Chakradharpur railway division office, thirteen long-distance trains were delayed for almost six hours and two passenger trains were cancelled on the Tata-Chakradharpur stretch of the Howrah-Mumbai route.
When the cargo were being dispatched at 3.17 am, the waggons broke loose from the engine and derailed.
Railway personnel soon started the restoration process, but it took around six hours for the trains to start running again. There were no confirmed casualties in the incident. Train services were resumed on the down line around 9.30 am, while train movement was resumed on the up line at 6.30 am.
