Ranchi News: 50 bed neuro surgery extension unit operational in RIMS

Ranchi: A 50-bed Neuro Surgery Extension Wing was inaugurated in RIMS on Wednesday. The inauguration was done by Health Minister Banna Gupta. During this time, Chief Secretary of Health Department Ajay Kumar Singh was also present with him. The Health Minister said that under the leadership of CM Hemant Soren, we are trying to provide better facilities to the patients of the state.

Patients will get relief

With the commencement of this unit, the patients undergoing treatment on the floor in the neuro surgery ward will get great relief. At the same time, they will not have to stay on the ground for treatment. Let us tell you that on Tuesday itself, Director Dr. Rajeev Kumar Gupta, HOD of Neuro Surgery Dr. CB Sahay, Superintendent Dr. Hirendra Birua and Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Shailesh Tripathi had inspected this unit.

10 bed HDU also

Officials said that the unit has a facility of 50 beds. Apart from this, the unit also has a 10 bed High Dependency Unit (HDU). Dr. Sahay said that OPD and emergency patients will be shifted here. Serious patients who will be admitted to HDU and treated. Let us tell you that currently there are 90 approved beds in the Neuro Surgery Ward of RIMS. But more than 200 patients are always admitted. In such cases, patients are treated by spreading mattresses on the ground. Most of the patients are road accident victims. Apart from this, patients coming for brain and spine surgery come from different districts.
