900 Bikes workers will receive permanent positions.
Following the settlement in Ranchi, Tata Motors will permanently hire 900 bicycle employees. The employee’s son will now spend three years in full-term apprenticeship (FTA) training. Following this, he will be permanently reinstated in the company after completing his diploma for two years. Employee sons will also be reinstated in officer grade. The leaders of the Tata Motors Workers Union successfully negotiated the reinstatement of the employee sons and daughters following the permanentizing of By Six employees between the union and management.
The employee sons will now be aware of when they will become permanent employees of the company at the time of registration. They were previously employed directly by By Six, but later on, the union and management jointly began using Tata Motors Skill Training (TMST) to hire them in place of direct temporary workers.
The 2005–2006 agreement was modified.
The amendment was made in 2005–2006, with Nidhi Khare, the Labor Commissioner at the time, serving as the chairman. It was decided that the company management would hire 200 employee sons annually through TMST Bridge.
The continuing practice of Tata Motors to confirm with bonuses during Durga Puja
Prior to Durga Puja, Gopeshwar (later), the former general secretary of the Jamshedpur Telco Workers Union, instituted the practice of permanentizing By Six employees (with bonus). Following Gopeshwar, this custom was upheld by Chandrabhan Singh, Prakash Kumar, and RK Singh, the general secretary of the Tata Motors Workers Union. Even during the economic downturn and the Corona infection, this custom persisted. when job losses were widespread throughout the nation. In the Jamshedpur plant, 221 by six were made permanent even during the Corona period.
