Jamshedpur’s “Doctor on Call” Initiative Boosts Healthcare with 12 Specialists

Jamshedpurs Doctor on Call Initiative Boosts Healt

A new “Doctor on Call” service has launched in Jamshedpur to make healthcare more accessible to residents. Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal created this program, which invites doctors from private practices to volunteer their time at local government hospitals. This initiative aims to provide more patients with access to specialist doctors when they need them most.

Currently, twelve doctors have joined the “Doctor on Call” program and will volunteer at Community Health Centers (CHCs) as well as sub-divisional and sadar hospitals. These doctors will provide their expertise to patients who may not otherwise have access to specialized medical care. In return for their services, the doctors will receive payment through the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, a government health insurance program. This ensures that these dedicated professionals are fairly compensated for their valuable time and effort.

The “Doctor on Call” program represents a strong partnership between the local government and the medical community. According to officials, the program is receiving a lot of support from local doctors, showing their commitment to the community’s health. This collaboration is essential for the program’s success and its ability to improve healthcare for the people of Jamshedpur.

As a result of this initiative, more medical specialists will be available in government hospitals. By incorporating doctors from private practices, the “Doctor on Call” service will help address healthcare gaps and ensure that more individuals get the necessary medical attention. This program is expected to make a real difference in the lives of many Jamshedpur residents.
