After more than thirty hours, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren finally made it to his Ranchi home on Tuesday. Soren had stated in a letter to the Enforcement Directorate that he would record his statement in front of agency representatives on Wednesday at 1 pm at his home.
The chief minister of Jharkhand, who agreed to have his statement recorded, claimed that the purpose of interrogating him at this particular moment was more political and aimed at undermining the operation of his government.
The letter from Soren to ED’s Ranchi office was cited by ANI. “You are well aware that the Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly will be held between 2nd and 29th February 2024 and the undersigned will be pre-occupied with preparations for the same apart from other prior scheduled official engagements.”
