The land mafia is back in the city doing business. They are invading government land without any discrimination. One example of this is the encroachment on Transport Corporation land on Brahmani Road in Vidyapatinagar, which is part of the Sidhgora-Baridih main road. On the property of State Road behind Birsamunda Town Hall, JCB is being installed as a means of preventing encroachment. This is unknown to the officials of Jamshedpur Access.
To divide the land, JCBs are being used to level the entire area once more. The locals claim that in the past, encroachment was also accomplished by constructing huts out of bricks, sand, gravel, and bamboo poles. This is how the encroachment game is being played once more. About 35 katha of government land are situated close to the Birsa Munda Town Hall in Sidhgora. More than Rs 2 crore is its estimated market value. The State Road Transport Corporation owns this land.
Following the cessation of bus operations, Jamshedpur Access became the owner of the land. However, land mafias are now monitoring the land that has been unoccupied for a while.
Bridih Depot and the bus stand are under the jurisdiction of JNAC. JNAC is in charge of the land and structures used by the Bihar (Jharkhand) Road Transport Corporation for its bus stop (JP Setu bus stop) and Baridih depot. 3.81 acres in Agrico and Chaibasa, and 7.80 acres in the Corporation’s Baridih depot.
The land area is three acres. Currently parked in the Baridih depot are machinery, automobiles, city buses, vehicles acquired from the 15th Finance Commission, and vehicles used for garbage collection. Trash disposal is handled in the vicinity by JNAC.
