Ranchi: ‘Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (CGL)’ is being organized in Jharkhand for about 10 years, but due to various reasons the appointment process has not been completed. Time and again the examination process is started and later gets canceled due to one reason or the other. Since 2015, the prescribed age limit of thousands of candidates appearing for the said examination has also expired, but the dreams of the candidates could not come true. However, from time to time, some relaxation in the age limit was also given by the government. But the candidates could not get the benefit of that also.
The recruitment process was started in the years 2015, 2019, 2021, but it could not be completed. These had to be canceled midway. After this, advertisement was issued by Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) for appointment to 2025 posts in 2023, the process of which is going on. On the other hand, in the Jharkhand General Graduate Qualifying Combined Competitive Examination-2023 examination held on January 28, the candidates made serious allegations of paper leaking. After which the examination of third paper (General Knowledge) was immediately canceled by JSSC. The Commission has not said anything about the examination of Paper-1 and Paper-2.
The next exam of the competition is to be held on February 4. There are a total of 6.50 lakh candidates in the examination. For this, 735 centers have been created in all the districts of the state. The answers of the first day’s exam paper and the third paper had gone viral on social media and WhatsApp groups even before the exam. Taking seriously the uproar and allegations of the candidates, JSSC canceled the examination of the third paper (General Knowledge) held in the third shift on January 28.
Paper leak issue has happened before:
The question papers of the ‘Diploma Level Combined Competitive Examination’ held in the year 2023 were leaked. An FIR was registered at Namkum police station on the complaint of the candidates. After investigating the matter, it was confirmed that the question paper was leaked. During investigation, people from the examination conducting agency were found to be involved in leaking the question paper. After this the Commission canceled the examination and took action against the agency and blacklisted it.
Question paper leaked even after strict law was implemented
The state government has implemented strict laws to prevent malpractices in competitive examinations. In this, there is a provision for jail sentence to heavy fine for anyone found involved in leaking the question paper. JSSC had also warned the candidates and their parents.
