Sonaram Sinku, an advocate for a separate Jharkhand state, was imprisoned in Champua, Odisha, for eighteen months. He was just named a “Jharkhand Agitator” by the Deputy Commissioner and the Jharkhand Government.

Singhbhum district residents are putting pressure on Grand Alliance leaders and national party figures to name MLA Sonaram Sinku as a minister in the Grand Alliance government. According to party sources, talks are in progress to appoint Sinku as a minister in order to keep the Koda couple from joining the BJP.

According to reports, Sinku is being pushed for a ministerial appointment by the state and district committees of the Congress Party. The Anjuman Islamia and Adivasi Samaj Ho Mahasabha of the Muslim community are also requesting the same thing from Congress leaders, such as former National President Sonia Gandhi and Jharkhand chief minister Mir.
Sources claim that at the party headquarters in Delhi, members of the Christian community have also expressed their support for Sinku. There is growing support for Sonaram Sinku to be appointed as a minister in the Grand Alliance government.
