The victim’s father said that on February 4, at 12 noon, 45-year-old Govind Singh, a resident of Ward No. 21, Badkigali, Gummo, called his 8-year-old daughter to his house and closed the door. He then tried to molest the girl. Hearing the girl’s screams, the people around rushed there and rescued the girl from Govind.
The victim’s father further said that when the Tilaiya police station was informed about the incident, the accused and his family members beat him up and threatened him with dire consequences.
On the other hand, the police have registered a case under the POCSO Act on the basis of the application. The girl has been sent to Sadar Hospital for medical examination. The police said that action will be taken in the case on the basis of the application.
