An official stated that during a clash with Naxalites in Jharkhand’s Chatra district on Wednesday evening, two police officers were killed and one was critically injured. For medical attention, the injured soldier was airlifted to Ranchi.

Homkar stated that “a joint operation against opium cultivation was being run by the Sadar Jori police station of Chatra district in Narayan Tari village of Jori, in the course of which this encounter took place with the Naxalites of the TPC extremist organisation.” A joint operation by the Chatra Police and the CRPF against opium cultivation resulted in the deaths of the two police officers in a clash with the TPC Naxalites in the Chatra district.

The two police officers were slain in a fight with TPC Naxalites in Chatra district during a joint operation by the Chatra Police and the CRPF against opium cultivation, according to Jharkhand Police Inspector General (Operations), Amol V. Homkar.

“Both sides of the conflict exchanged gunfire during the encounter, leaving two of our jawans dead. A single injured jawan was sent to Ranchi for care; he is currently receiving treatment, and his condition is stable. The other two injured jawans are not suffering from serious injuries; they are receiving care at Chatra’s Sadar Hospital; their injuries are merely from falls,” he said.
