Indian Navy rescued Iranian Fishing Vessel

national news Indian Navy recues iranian fishing vessel

The six-person crew of the Iranian fishing vessel Ameen suffered significant damage after colliding with a merchant vessel east of Duqm. Water entered the ship as a result of a breach in the hull. An Indian Naval ship participating in maritime security operations in the North Arabian Sea responded to the distress call and offered prompt assistance.

The Indian Navy posted on X, saying, “Indian Navy provides critical repair assistance & medical aid to Iranian Fishing vessels (FV). FV Ameen (six Iranian crew), operating East of Duqm, had sustained damages, allegedly due to a collision with a Merchant vessel. This had resulted in a hull breach leading to water ingress.”

In order to guarantee the safety of the ship during additional transit, the Indian Navy’s damage control team cautiously strengthened the damaged hull. Three other crew members who were hurt also received medical attention. The prompt and steadfast actions of the Indian Navy show their dedication to ensuring the security of all ships and seafarers in the area.

The Indian Navy has assisted troubled ships on previous occasions. Previously, in January, the merchant vessel Marlin Luanda had a fire that the INS Visakhapatnam firefighting team managed to contain. The timely response and cooperative efforts between the Indian Navy and the crew of the merchant vessel resulted in the containment of the fire.
