Jagadguru Rambhadracharya and Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati have publicly opposed Mohan Bhagwat’s recent statements regarding temple issues amid ongoing disputes in Sambhal.
Rambhadracharya asserted that Bhagwat is not their disciplinarian and emphasized the importance of continuing the struggle for temple rights, despite the challenges. Meanwhile, Avimukteshwaranand criticized Bhagwat’s political convenience, calling for a list of destroyed temples and an ASI survey to restore Hindu pride.
In a recent statement, Bhagwat suggested that some individuals are using the Ram temple’s construction to claim leadership within the Hindu community, which he deemed unacceptable. He urged for unity and coexistence, warning against the emergence of new temple-related controversies. The comments have sparked backlash from prominent religious leaders who advocate for the recognition and restoration of historical temples.
