A 29 year old Muslim man named Shahe Din died after a mob attack Monday in Moradabad Uttar Pradesh. He was accused of cow slaughter. Video shows the mob beating him with batons rods. The attack continued even after he regained consciousness. Onlookers encouraged it per police and video.
Police filed a murder case against unknown people. They also filed a case against Shahe Din and three others for cow slaughter. Police say the mob found Shahe Din at Mandi Samiti premises. Three others escaped the mob. Shahe Din died later in a hospital.
The district commissioner says the law is under control. Police are investigating. Community leaders say police are trying to protect the attackers. No arrests have been made.
