Court Denies Bail to Terror Suspect Inspired by Islamic Preacher

Terror suspect denying bail

Madhya Pradesh High Court saying religiously motivated terror is from hatred and ideology, not just the physical stuff. This came up when they didn’t give bail to Syed Ali from Jabalpur, arrested by NIA in Delhi last year May. He’s accused of planning to attack a factory in Jabalpur and making bombs.

NIA got a bunch of evidence like witness statements and phone records, showing his involvement with other accused people. NIA special court in Bhopal already said no to bail back in April. High Court made it clear that they won’t be easy on these kind of cases, cause the charges are serious.

Turns out during the COVID lockdown Syed Ali and his friends were watching Zakir Naik videos, that were about comparing religions. Another guy, Adil Khan, got into jihad after being influenced by Naik’s clips. They were also listening to other Islamic speakers.
