In a town called Chegunta in India on January 8th a woman who is believed to have a mental disability was sexually assaulted. Police found out about this when they were looking at security camera footage for a different crime a theft. The video showed three men forcing her to go with them from the side of the road.
This video was reviewed by the police on January 12th which led them to change the focus from the theft to the serious assault. The police are now trying to figure out all the details of what happened after these men took the woman. They want to hold them responsible for what they did.
It’s important to note that the police only knew about the assault because of a video they were using to look for theft suspects. They were not looking for a crime like this they found it. Now they are investigating the assault so they can charge the men for their actions.
