Lots of families left Hyderabad heading to their hometowns in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the Sankranti festival and that made the highway to Vijayawada really jammed up for three days straight. Bus and train stations in the city were also super crowded with people trying to leave. To help with this both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh put more buses out on the road and the train people added extra trains too.
The big reason for all the traffic was the Sankranti festival a big harvest celebration. So many people all traveling at once caused traffic jams everywhere. Especially toll booths on the highway were a mess with tons of cars and buses waiting. The people in charge tried to add more buses and trains to help ease the problem and get people moving.
It’s like the huge number of people traveling all at once mixed with the limited roads and transport options created this problem. This shows just how many people move during big holidays and how the roads and trains get overwhelmed. Even though they tried to help it was still really congested and made things hard for people going home.
