On Sunday January 12th police in Makkah Saudi Arabia arrested ten Pakistani people living there. They were caught for running a bunch of money scams involving fake gold bars. Officials say this group was part of 31 different fraud cases. They’re accused of stealing over 2.8 million Saudi riyals which is a lot of money.
These people tricked others by first showing real gold during talks to build trust. Then they’d swap the real gold for fake stuff to steal money. It all happened in the Makkah area where police did the investigating and made the arrests.
The police are still looking into the case to find out everything and make sure everyone involved is held responsible. The way they did this crime shows it was well thought out. This whole thing reminds people that police in Saudi Arabia are watching out for fraud.
