The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, said they changed the names of eleven villages in Shajapur district on Sunday. These villages used to have names that some people thought sounded Muslim. Now they have new names. For example, Nipaniya Hissamuddin is now called Nipaniya Dev, and Dhabla Hussainpura is now Dhabla Ram. They also changed Mohammadpur Pawadia to Rampur Pawadia and Khajuri Allahdad to Khajuri Ram. He announced all of this at a gathering in Kalapipal tehsil.
The government wanted to change these names because they thought they sounded Muslim. Some people support this and want more places renamed too. The Chief Minister said they changed the names because of where the old names seemed to come from. This decision has started conversations and arguments.
The renaming happened quickly. The new names are now being used officially which shows how the villages are seen differently now in the Shajapur district. It seems like the Chief Minister ordered this and then local officials made the changes happen.
