Punjab’s Indus River May Hold Massive Gold Reserve, Sparking Illegal Mining

Punjabs Indus River May Hold Massive Gold Reserve

There’s talk of a big gold find in Pakistan along the Indus River near Attock in the Punjab area. Experts think there could be about 80000 crore rupees worth of gold there. This could be a huge deal for the area and maybe help Pakistan’s economy if it’s all real and handled right.

After the news got out people started digging in the riverbed looking for the gold. It’s not legal what they’re doing since it’s outside the rules. We don’t know exactly how they are getting the gold out but it’s not something they’re supposed to be doing. This shows how quickly the community responded when they heard about the gold.

What the government will do about all this isn’t clear yet. They need to figure out how to manage the gold and keep people safe while also preventing illegal digging. We don’t know for sure how big the gold find really is or exactly what impact it will have. It’s still early days.
