Karnataka Police Book Pramod Muthalik for Alleged Hate Speech

Pramod Muthalik who started Sri Rama Sene and some other people were in trouble with police in Karnataka India. They’re accused of making a hateful speech at a Hindu event in Sakleshpur on January 9. A police officer filed a complaint which started the investigation on January 10. They’re looking into if these people broke the law under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act.

The police say Muthalik’s speech on January 9 was the problem which led to them being charged. They’re investigating to see exactly what happened and collect the evidence to determine the extent of the law violations. Right now the police haven’t said what was exactly said in the speech.

The police in Hassam district started the case against Muthalik on January 10 after a local officer made a complaint. The police are looking at how Muthalik acted during his speech.
