Justice Sujoy Paul Appointed Telangana High Court’s New Chief

Senior Judge Sujoy Paul is now the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. This happened after the previous Chief Justice, Alok Aradhe, moved to the Bombay High Court to be their Chief Justice. The change happened in March 2024 when Judge Paul came to the Telangana High Court from the Madhya Pradesh High Court. At that time he was already the most senior judge there.

Judge Paul was born June 21 1964. He went to school at Pandit LS Jha Model Higher Secondary School. He has degrees in BCom MA and LLB. He started working as a lawyer in 1990 after joining the Madhya Pradesh Bar Council. His long legal journey has now led to him becoming the Chief Justice.

Basically Judge Paul came to the Telangana High Court and became Chief Justice because he was the most senior judge there. This leadership change happened because Judge Aradhe went to another court. It’s normal for judges to move between different high courts in India.
