A flight from Pune got redirected to Raipur Tuesday morning because of thick fog making it hard to see. This happened around 8:25 AM and caused problems for other planes trying to land at the same airport. Passengers had to wait a long time starting around 10:40 AM. Lots of flights from places like Mumbai Hyderabad Bangalore and Delhi were delayed for many hours because of this.
For example a plane from Mumbai that was supposed to arrive at 8:20 AM didn’t land until 10:27 AM. A flight from Hyderabad that was due at 9:00 AM also came at 10:27 AM. Air India Express flights from Bangalore and Delhi got in late too. Even a flight coming from Chennai in the evening was delayed by 25 minutes. The fog and all the delays together messed up travel plans a lot.
The fog not only affected planes but also trains. The Swarna Jayanti Express was running seven hours behind schedule. Many trains coming into Ranchi including the 18620 from Godda were also delayed. These train delays caused problems for a huge number of people showing how the fog impacted both air travel and train rides.
