Delhi BJP Leader Accused of Inflammatory Speech Targeting Muslims

On January 11 2025 a group called Citizens for Justice and Peace or CJP made a complaint to the main election official in Delhi. They said that a BJP leader named Ravinder Singh Negi gave a speech that was meant to cause religious problems during the election. CJP said Negi talked about Muslims in a way that suggested they were outsiders and that he wanted a specific religious chant to take over the country. They say he tried to make Hindu people scared by saying Muslims were a threat especially in West Bengal.

The CJP complaint goes on to say that Negi said he was a “Sanatani Hindu” and that he had to protect Hindus. This made it sound like Hindus were victims who needed saving. CJP claims he tried to split voters by making it seem like Hindus and Muslims were different groups. They say this could hurt the election process.

CJP thinks Negi was using religious feelings to get votes. They say his speech was a clear attempt to make the election about religion and not real issues. CJP also thinks this was done to make voters dislike Muslim people and make Hindu people feel more powerful. CJP is asking the election official to do something about this because they believe it broke election rules and caused religious conflict.
