Unions Demand Immediate Recognition of Telangana Tenant Farmers
On September 11, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and Telangana Kaulu Raitula Gurtimpu Sadhana Committee pressed the Telangana government to immediately recognize tenant cultivators under the 2011 Licensed Cultivators Act, warning that prolonged delays would exacerbate distress among struggling farmers facing drought and El Nino effects and demand implementation of the law before the upcoming harvest season and seek urgent action.
