Speaking to a crowd at Kohima’s Indira Gandhi Stadium, he stated, “…last year, we did a (Bharat Jodo) yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to bring the nation together, different cultures, different religions, and different languages and we had a view that we should do a yatra from east to west…”

“Everyone in the nation should feel equal, regardless of their state of residence. That is the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’s concept. To ensure that everyone has equal access to politics, society, and the economic system, and to provide justice to the people,” noted the Congress MP.

Starting from Sekmai, the yatra ended its journey in Manipur. The Congress MP visited with people in Kohima this morning prior to the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra commencing again. After his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra crossed the state and entered Nagaland on Monday evening, he also thanked the people of Manipur.

Rahul Gandhi Posted on social media that he will stick up and defend the rights of the Manipur people.

“We are grateful to the lovely people of Manipur for their kindness and affection towards us. He vowed, “Until you have justice and peace, I will stand with you and fight for you.

The Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren requests that ED record his remarks in the land case at his office.

According to sources, the ED had written the Chief Minister a letter on January 13 requesting that he be available for questioning in the case between January 16 and January 20.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been requested by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to record his statement at his Secretariat on January 20 in relation to a money-laundering case that is connected to an alleged land scam.

On Monday night (January 15), sources claimed, “The ED had on January 13 sent a letter to the Chief Minister, asking him to be available for questioning in the case between January 16 and January 20.” Following Mr. Soren’s failure to appear for seven agency summonses related to the matter, the ED sent the letter.

“A person from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Monday submitted Mr. Soren’s reply to the letter to the ED’s office in Ranchi, informing that he would be available to record his statement in the case on January 20,” the sources said.

Mr. Soren has never deposed before the ED about the case, despite receiving multiple summonses. He had petitioned the Jharkhand High Court and the Supreme Court, claiming the summons was “unwarranted” and asking for protection from the ED action. Both the courts had dismissed his petition.

According to the sources, Mr. Soren’s response to the letter was turned in to the ED’s Ranchi office on Monday by a representative of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), who also let them know that he would be available on January 20 to record his statement in the case.

  • Sonari Tusu fair in Jamshedpur is a major draw.

Sonari Tusu fair in Jamshedpur is a major draw.

Jamshedpur: The city observed Tusu Parab and Makar Sankranti with tremendous zeal and devotion on Monday.

Tusu fair was held at Domuhani in Sonari by the socio-cultural Jharkhand Sanskritik Kala Kendra, which continues the age-old practice. People gathered in particular to compete for the idol of Tusu, the goddess of harvest and fertility.

Jharkhand’s harvest season, known as the Tusu festival, was enjoyed by both the general public and notable figures, such as health minister Banna Gupta, who attended the festivities in his home seat. One of the largest and most well-liked Tusu fairs in the city is Tusu Mela at Domuhani in Sonari, where the rivers Kharkai and Subernarekha converge.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi travels through parts of Manipur plagued by violence.

Congressman K. C. Venugopal said that although the situation is precarious, both communities view Rahul Gandhi as a leader who can bring them together.

As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra went through Imphal West and into Kuki-dominated Kangpokpi, the apparent normalcy in Imphal city gradually gave way to a sense of mistrust and a deep split.

The Meitei community and the Kuki tribes erupted in ethnic conflict on May 3, of last year. Mr. Gandhi’s modified Volvo bus passed through some of these places on Monday, January 15, 2024, the second day of the 67-day Manipur to Mumbai yatra.

The presence of security guards outside of certain towns, a completely destroyed home with a “Meitei Go” sign on it, and other signs stating “Welcome to Kuki land” were all clear indicators of a severe socioeconomic difference.

    Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

As eager throngs crowded the narrow roads on their way from Imphal to Kohima, Manipur Congress head Keisham Meghachandra Singh and former chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh, both of whom are from the Meitei community, were absent from Mr. Gandhi’s entourage.

A group of young boys in Karong were chanting “Rahul Gandhi zindabad” and “We want separate administration” back and forth while holding the Indian tricolour in their hands.

“I am aware of what you have experienced. You have lost belongings and loved members. Gandhi stated in a roadside public speech, “I want you to know that we are fully with you and want to bring peace to Manipur.”

At many locations, such as Kalapahar Bazar in the Kangpokpi region or Keithelmanbi Military Colony, signs prohibiting strangers after 5 p.m.

“Both groups express faith in Rahul.”

“We know that the situation is still fragile but Rahul ji has come forward with his message of peace and harmony. Meitei and Kuki alike have come out to show their faith in him, according to people from both communities, Congress general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal told Tind Posting.

“They see Rahul ji as a leader who can unify the communities,” Mr. Venugopal, one of the key organisers of the yatra, remarked.

Senior leader Jairam Ramesh discussed how, during the previous two days, Mr. Gandhi had met with a number of civil society organisations.

Mr. Ramesh informed reporters, “The civil society organisations told Rahul ji that the Congress and he [Prime Minister Narendra Modi] should come to Manipur before the 2024 Lok Sabha election.”

According to Mr. Ramesh, these organisations were referred to as Manipuri organisations during their previous visits to the State, but they are now known as community organisations. That’s the distinction between. They’re all for peace, he continued.

However, the path to peace in Manipur was as brittle as the partially collapsed road that was being built to Kohima.

It’s National Highway 29 here. Take a look at its condition. Prime Minister Modi ji and [Union Minister for Road Transport Highways] Nitin Gadkari make great boasts regarding motorways and super motorways. However, as the yatra began its third day of travel on Tuesday, Mr. Ramesh said, “There is no road at all here, just pebbles and potholes.”

  • The Implications Of Trump’s Potential Re-Entry Into The White House For Others And India

The Implications Of Trump’s Potential Re-Entry Into The White House For Others And India

In addition to his protectionist trade ideas, Donald Trump’s America First rhetoric and threats to leave NATO have alarmed many US allies.

Not only did Estonia’s highly regarded prime minister, Kaja Kallas, meet with White House representatives during her November visit to Washington. She also made sure to talk to important allies of Donald Trump.

Her foreign minister had been in the heart of Trump country just a month before, congratulating employees of an Arkansas Lockheed Martin Corp. facility for their contribution to national security—namely, the HIMARS multiple rocket launchers manufactured there. “It’s important that we take these messages not only to Washington but also to other part of American society, to states that are perhaps a little more conservative,” Margus Tsahkna told the press.

The outreach is just one illustration of the careful, yet urgent, preparations that nations are doing for Trump’s potential comeback to the White House. This fact will probably be felt during this week’s Davos meetings of the world’s elite, as the former president’s commanding victory in the Iowa caucuses solidified his hold on the Republican nomination and set the stage for a possible rematch with Joe Biden, who trails in national polls.

    Donald trump again

Trump’s win in 2016 startled both US friends and opponents. Leaders are not wasting any time this time.

In an attempt to learn more about the former president’s foreign policy goals, residents of Washington’s Embassy Row have been searching the city for meetings with former officials and anybody else connected to him. In other cases, they have even gone so far as to personally massage Trump’s ego, or in Estonia’s case, try to defuse his frequent grievance that Europe doesn’t pay enough on defence.

Others are publicly raising the alarm. Trump’s first term taught us that “it is clearly a threat,” European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said to French TV last week.

Not many powerful people are as transparent. However, in-depth interviews with government representatives across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America exposed their worries—and occasionally even their optimism—about the potential consequences of a Trump comeback for international commerce, security, climate action, and the distribution of power. The majority requested anonymity when speaking about a supposedly internal US topic, with the campaign only recently beginning to take up steam and expected to be fierce.

In order to win, Kiran Bedi encourages the students of XLRI Jamshedpur to step outside of their comfort zones.

Jamshedpur: During a riveting speech at XLRI on Friday night, Kiran Bedi—the first female IPS officer and a former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry—inspired students to go above their comfort zones in order to achieve success.

Bedi’s profound stay at Tihar Jail provided as a backdrop to her emphasis on education and self-reliance in improving lives. She gave details about her ground-breaking project to educate prisoners how to read and write on a one-on-one basis to ensure a long-term commitment to their education. Bedi emphasised the importance of focus, imagination, self-control, and honesty, crediting these essential elements for her own achievements.
Bedi, who is from Chandigarh, clarified the critical part that a strict upbringing played in influencing her extraordinary journey.Maxi Fair 2024 at XLRI began with a ceremonial lighting of the lamps, which marked the official start of the event. Bedi was the primary guest of honour.

Bedi elaborated on the idea of integrity, defining it as a combination of helpfulness, accountability, kindness, respect, and reliability. Speaking of her time spent learning in an Amritsar convent school, she credited the orderly groundwork her early years had laid for her future achievement.

Bedi urged students to venture outside their comfort zones, viewing it as a necessary step in achieving their goals. In addition to showcasing Bedi’s motivational remarks, the occasion also signalled the start of Maxi Fair 2024 at XLRI, with Bedi adding distinction as the honoured chief guest.

With XLRI nearing its Platinum Jubilee year, the 44th MAXI Fair is anticipated to surpass previous records in size and quality. The fair offers exciting attractions for thrill-seekers, a lineup of guest speaker events, food stalls serving delicious snacks, and the opportunity to win fascinating gifts and prizes.
The organisers of MAXI Fair are committed to giving each member of the family a great experience, which is why they are providing comprehensive details regarding tickets and schedules.

When Fr. Oswald Mascarenhas conceptualised the research and Prof. Sharad Sarin expanded it up to cover the entire city of Jamshedpur in the shape of MAXI Fair for the first time, XLRI became a pioneer in the field of disguised marketing research. Building on that impressive tradition spanning more than 40 years, MAXI Fair has endured, expanded, and changed continuously to keep up with the ever-evolving fields of marketing and research.

MAXI Fair is a unique idea in which students, in collaboration with partner companies, use gamification to undertake covert marketing research. Some of the largest names in the marketing sector, including Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Mondelez, and others, have previously used insights from MAXI Fair in their marketing initiatives.

Jugsalai Gunfire: Two Hurt and Taken to TMH for Treatment

Two young people, Mahfooz Alam of Mango and Mohd Majeed of Jugsalai, were injured in a frightening event in which criminals opened fire at Mararpada, Jugsalai. Following the attack, the perpetrators—who have been named as Altamash, Sabbo, Mujahid alias Bablu, and Bikki—left the area. The patients received quick medical attention and are currently receiving care at Tata Main Hospital (TMH).

According to Mohammad Majeed’s account of the incident, Altamash, Sabbo, Mujahid, and Bikki stopped him and his companion Mahfooz outside Murga Chowk as they were making their way home from a party. After they got into a fight, Bikki pulled out a revolver and shot six times. Mahfooz Alam was struck on the palm, and Majeed was injured in the waist and hands.

    Two Shot

Majeed disclosed that Bikki’s demands for extortion were the driving force behind the attack. Because Majeed had refused to pay extortion money, Bikki had earlier set fire to his tyre shop at Jugsalai gate. It is purported that the recent gunshot incident was a continuation of this disagreement. The matter is presently being looked into by the police.

3 MGM medical College students were kicked out of their Jamshedpur hostel

Jamshedpur: Three older students were dismissed from the College Hostel by the government-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital (MGM-MHS) for acting inappropriately towards juniors.

Dr. KN Singh, the college principal, announced on Sunday that three male students—two from the 2018–19 batch and one from the 2017–18 batch—had been expelled as a result of a complaint made by two 2020–21 class students.

    MGM College

According to Singh, on January 10, the two junior students’ car collided with a senior batch student’s two-wheeler as they were parking their bikes on campus. “This angered the senior boys and they misbehaved with the juniors ones,” the principal added. The juniors were allegedly forced to perform sit-ups while covering their ears by the three senior males. The juniors filed an online complaint with the National Medical Commission (NMC) after being offended by the attitude.

  • Ending his campaign for US president, Vivek Ramaswamy declares Donald Trump the “best president of the 21st century.”

Ending his campaign for US president, Vivek Ramaswamy declares Donald Trump the “best president of the 21st century.”

US Presidential Elections of 2024: According to his spokeswoman, who was cited by the news agency AFP, Vivek Ramaswamy confirmed his Republican candidature following a lacklustre showing in Iowa.

The 38-year-old Ramaswamy supported former President Donald Trump, his opponent. Even as he attempted to persuade Republican voters to choose Trump in order to “take our America First agenda to the next level” and give the candidate “fresh legs,” he has previously referred to Trump as the “best president of the 21st century.”

    vivek ramaswamy endorses trump

The affluent political outsider also took inspiration from Trump’s campaign, portraying himself as a headline-grabbing, quick-witted populist who would not back down from a challenge.

In the first Republican presidential contest of 2024, held in Iowa on Monday, Donald Trump triumphed handily, demonstrating his control over the party in spite of a long list of legal issues as he looks to face Democratic President Joe Biden again, according to Reuters.

“THANK YOU IOWA, I LOVE YOU ALL!!!” Trump sent a message on Truth Social, his social media network.

In November, as the former US president attempted to win back the White House, Ramaswamy also supported Trump.

“I looked in all directions, and I believe it’s true that we weren’t able to pull off the surprise we had planned for tonight… We are going to pause this presidential campaign as of right now. I have no chance of being the next president,” declared Ramaswamy, as cited by PTI.

There are two America First candidates running in this election, as I have stated from the first. Additionally, earlier tonight, I gave Donald Trump a call to congratulate him on his win and let him know that going ahead, you will have my full endorsement for the presidency,” he added.

As they compete to become the leading Trump rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis came in well behind in second place, according to Edison Research, beating out former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.

According to Edison, after nearly 90% of the predicted votes were counted, Trump had 50.9%, DeSantis was at 21.4%, and Haley was at 19.0%. Bob Dole’s 12.8 percentage point victory margin in the 1988 Iowa Republican caucus was the greatest ever.

According to Reuters, it was too soon to determine whether Trump would surpass 50%, a psychological threshold that would bolster his opponents’ claims that his ascent to the nomination might be thwarted.

To persuade supporters and donors that their challenges to Trump are still credible, DeSantis and Haley had each set their sights on a solid second-place result.

Trump has aimed to create an air of inevitability around his campaign, skipping all five of the Republican debates thus far and largely eschewing the county-by-county politicking that most candidates do ahead of the Iowa vote.
