Patna: JDU MLC Radhacharan Seth, who is presently detained in Beur Jail, is under increased control of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED has seized illegally acquired assets worth Rs 26.19 crore, which is a significant development in the disproportionate assets case. With the ED conducting massive raids, the investigation centers on irregularities in sand contracts and illegal sand mining.
Kanhaiya Kumar, the son of Radhacharan Seth, has also been the target of legal action by the ED in relation to this case. Notably, records pertaining to the ownership of Aditya Multicompany by Radhacharan Seth and Kanhaiya Kumar, as well as the directing positions of Ashok Kumar and Jeevan Kumar in Broadson, were discovered in June 2023.
Their involvement in the illicit sand trade was exposed by these documents.
The ED then questioned Kanhaiya Kumar and Radhacharan Seth. Both were taken into custody on September 13, 2023, in accordance with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). A few days after his father’s arrest, Kanhaiya Kumar was also taken into custody.
