Jamshedpur Resort Raid: Villagers Allege Prostitution, Manager Detained

In Jamshedpur, angry villagers attacked the Lake View Resort in Gerua village, located in the Bodam police station area near Dimna Lake. The incident occurred around 10:30 in the morning. The villagers targeted the resort's manager, Santosh Giri, accusing him of running a prostitution racket.

According to reports, villagers rescued three couples from three different rooms in one building and handed them over to the police. Meanwhile, another couple found in a separate building managed to escape. The villagers alleged that illegal activities had been taking place at the resort for the past six months.

Police from Bodam reached the scene and attempted to take the three couples into custody. However, the agitated villagers refused to leave until the resort's owner was summoned. They demanded the immediate closure of the resort and insisted on confronting the owner before dispersing.

During the chaos, some villagers reportedly assaulted the manager, Santosh Giri. He informed authorities that the resort belongs to Vinod Singh, a resident of Dhanbad. The property reportedly houses a Patanjali medical center on one side and operates as a resort on the other, frequently visited by couples from various parts of the city.

Police conducted searches of the rooms and recovered several objectionable items. The villagers have demanded a thorough investigation by the administration and immediate closure of the resort if the allegations are proven true. They have warned of launching a larger agitation if prompt action is not taken. Currently, police are investigating the entire matter and questioning the detained individuals.
