India Unveils First Flying Taxi Prototype Shunya i

At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi they showed off India’s first flying taxi prototype it’s called ‘Shunya’. This happened because a company named SonaSPEED that makes things and Sarla Aviation who are based in Bengaluru agreed to work together. Sarla Aviation is building the electric plane that can take off and land straight up and down. They want to change how people get around in Indian cities.

The ‘Shunya’ is a big move towards actually using flying taxis in India. The idea is to give people a new way to travel inside cities hopefully making traffic less of a problem and trips faster. The government is also paying attention they had the Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel HD Kumaraswamy at the event.

SonaSPEED and Sarla Aviation working together shows that it takes different kinds of skills to create new things like this. They’re focused on making a plane that works well in cities. The prototype is just the first step there will be more work done and testing before the public can use them.
