Iran Conflict at 75 Days: Trump-Xi Discussions in Beijing as Gulf Tensions Escalate

US President Donald Trump traveled to Beijing on Tuesday for a high-stakes summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. While trade is the main focus of the visit, Trump stated the two leaders would also hold a “long talk” regarding Iran. The summit occurs as tensions over the Iran war continue to escalate.

Tehran has accused Washington and Israel of fabricating “justifications for atrocity.” Meanwhile, Trump has insisted the conflict will end “peacefully or otherwise.” The situation in the region remains volatile as diplomatic efforts continue.

These individuals were accused of planning “hostile” activities after attempting to enter the country via Bubiyan Island. Additionally, Qatar has accused Tehran of “weaponising” the Strait of Hormuz and using it to “blackmail” Gulf states. Vital energy supplies remain trapped in the region amid these rising tensions.
