Over 8,500 Attacks on Education Recorded Worldwide in 2024-2025, Marking 40% Increase

Over 8,500 attacks on education occurred globally in 2024 and 2025, a 40 percent increase from the previous period, harming at least 10,600 people across 83 countries. Palestine, Ukraine, and India were among the worst affected. Military use of schools nearly doubled, and explosive weapons caused hundreds of attacks.
