Telangana Dalit Family Home Destroyed After Inter-Caste Marriage; Six Arrested

In Telangana's Gadwal district, a Dalit family's house was demolished by around 15 members of a woman's family after she married a Madiga man in an inter-caste union. The couple had sought police protection following their Arya Samaj temple wedding in Hyderabad. A joint fact-finding team from the Dalit Bahujan Front, Human Rights Forum, and Ambedkar Students' Association reported that six individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. They demanded the arrest of all involved, inclusion of property damage charges in the FIR, and compensation under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act to rebuild the house.
