Neil Gaiman a British author has been accused of sexual assault coercion and abuse by eight different women. These allegations were shared in a recent Vulture article from New York Magazine. The incidents are said to have happened at various times and places with one accuser Scarlett Pavlovich claiming Gaiman assaulted her in New Zealand in 2022 while she was working as his child’s babysitter. This assault allegedly took place in both a backyard bathtub and later in a hotel room.
The women say Gaiman used his power and influence to create situations that enabled the alleged abuse. While the specifics of each case are different the women share stories of Gaiman acting exploitatively and causing them harm. These accusations have come up after previous similar claims adding to a pattern of concerning behavior that is now under review.
The Vulture article called “There Is No Safe Word” details these women’s stories giving a timeline of events and different contexts where the incidents are said to have happened. They say Gaiman took advantage of his position creating uncomfortable and harmful situations the nature of these alleged abuses paints a really disturbing picture of Gaiman’s reported actions.
