While Imran Khan is in jail and banned from contesting elections in Pakistan. There are no PTI candidates who could have run for the elections in the general assembly election of Pakistan. Since the party is also banned across Pakistan. However, supporters of Imran Khan contested the election while being independent candidates and the results came out in their favour.

Claims of Election rigging in Pakistan
As per a report in Dawn newspaper, Imran Khan’s PTI has asserted that election officials ‘falsely changed’ the results of at least eighteen National Assembly seats.
Courts are filled with petitions as PTI-backed losing candidates challenge Pakistan election results. The PTI said that although the candidates it supported had won the most seats, the results had been tampered with to deny it the majority, and its defeated candidates had flooded the courts to reverse the trend.
Many prominent politicians, including former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi and his wife Qaisera, former finance minister Taimoor Jhagra and former KP speaker Mahmood Jan, Islamabad-based lawyer Shuaib Shaheen, former Punjab health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, and Rehana Dar, mother of Usman Dar, who oversaw youth affairs in the PTI government, are among those who have filed challenges against the results, according to a report in the Dawn newspaper.

One independent candidate joins Nawaz Sharif’s PML-N
The independent candidate supported by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan was able to garner the backing of the Nawaz Sharif-led Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
After having a meeting with Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of Nawaz Sharif, at her home, Wasir Qadir joined the party. Sheikh Rohail Asghar, the PML-N candidate from Lahore’s National Assembly-121 constituency, had been defeated.
Following the meeting, Qadir reportedly said, “I have joined PML-N as it is my home,” according to news agency PTI.
USA has not acknowledged Pakistan election results
According to Geo News, US lawmakers have urged President Joe Biden to hold off on recognizing the results of the Pakistani election, which produced a hung parliament, until claims of fraud or election rigging have been thoroughly looked into.
In a statement released on Friday, the spokesperson for the US State Department stated that “claims of interference or fraud should be fully investigated.” “We join credible international and local election observers in their assessment that these elections included undue restrictions on freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly,” the statement continued.
