According to unconfirmed reports cited by Pakistan’s Geo News, tennis player Sania Mirza and former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik have divorced. The announcement of Shoaib Malik’s third marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed and this news came shortly after.
The report claims that Sania Mirza started the divorce, purportedly because she didn’t like how Shoaib Malik was acting around other women.
Sania Mirza’s hometown of Hyderabad served as the site of the couple’s initial marriage in April 2010 before they moved to Dubai. In 2018, they welcomed Izhaan Mirza Malik as their son.
The couple’s decreased public appearances together gave rise to these rumors. Shoaib Malik changed his bio on Instagram from “Husband to a superwoman Sania Mirza” to “Father to One True Blessing,” which furthered the rumors. He also unfollowed Sania.
Sania Mirza started a “khula,” which is an Islamic divorce procedure that permits a woman to separate from her husband. Sania made a hint about this move toward separation in a mysterious Instagram story that discussed the challenges of marriage and divorce.
2010 saw the end of Shoaib Malik’s first marriage, which was to Ayesha Siddiqui.
What is the difference between “Khula” and “Talaq” in Islam?
Khula is the term for the separation of a wife from her husband in exchange for money; the husband accepts the money and releases his wife, whether it be more or less than the mahr he gave her.
In terms of how it is carried out, the husband should accept his payment or they should come to an agreement on it, after which he should say to her something like “faraqtuki” or “khala’tuki” (I let you go). Khula can be taken by the wife in a marriage.
While Talaq is only permissible by husband in which he utters the word “talaq” three times after which the marriage is over. The wife is divorced from the husband after which she has to complete a period of 40 days which is called “iddah” before marrying someone else.
Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik’s third wife – Sana Javed
On January 20, Saturday, Pakistani cricket player Shoaib Malik made headlines when he revealed he was getting married for the third time. Amid rumors of a divorce from Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, Malik wed Pakistani actor Sana Javed. The cricket player posted images from the nuptials on social media. Sana and Malik were frequently mentioned together, and the rumors began when Shoaib wished Sana a happy birthday the previous year.
Actress Javed, from Pakistan, was born on March 25, 1993, and she works in Urdu television programs. After making her television debut in Shehr-e-Zaat in 2012, she went on to feature in a number of serials. Javed became well-known for playing the lead in the romantic drama Khaani. Sana was born in Saudi Arabia to Hyderabad Deccan-born Pakistani parents. After completing her education at Jeddah’s Pakistan International School, she relocated to Karachi to attend the University of Karachi.
She wed singer Umair Jaswal in a secret Nikah ceremony in Karachi in October 2020. The 30-year-old actress and Malik were frequently connected. The 41-year-old cricket player also stood by Javed after she was criticized for acting impolitely toward makeup artists and juniors on the set. Malik wrote on Twitter, “I have known Sana Javed for quite some time now and have had the opportunity to work with her multiple times, from my personal experience I can only say that she has always been kind & courteous towards me & the people around us.”
After getting married to Malik, Sana Javed changed her username in the bio of her Instagram account, making it Sana Shoaib Malik.
Their wedding came as a huge surprise to fans on both sides of the border with rumours still spreading on his divorce with Sania. Malik married Mirza after divorcing Ayesha Siddiqui in 2010. They got married in a traditional Muslim ceremony, and later had a Walima ceremony in Sialkot, Pakistan. Both have been living separately for some time now and continue to co-parent their son Izhaan, born in 2018.
