Syrian Museum Reopens After Assad’s Regime

The national museum in Damascus reopened Wednesday after being closed since December seventh due to safety worries when Assad got ousted. When things were going crazy with the change in power lots of government people left their jobs and the museum was left unprotected. The museum people asked Hayat Tahrir al-Sham for help and they sent some fighters to guard it.

This reopening was a big deal for Syrians so they could see the old stuff like tools from way before and Islamic art too. Mohamed Nair Awad who runs the museum said everything was okay and nothing got messed up because Hayat Tahrir al-Sham helped out. People were happy the museum was safe especially after what happened in Baghdad in 2003 when all the stuff got stolen.

The museum was closed for years even when the war was bad with Assad messing things up and getting kicked out. Now folks can see things that are more than ten thousand years old and they’re happy about it. People are thankful to those who kept it safe and want the new leaders to keep protecting our history and culture.
