Syria’s Children Face Deadly Threat: Over 100 Hurt by Landmines in a Month

UNICEF said that in the last month over 100 kids in Syria were hurt or killed because of landmines and other explosives left over from the war. It’s a problem all over the country and there have been over 422000 incidents involving these things in the last nine years. This makes it dangerous for everyone especially kids who dont know about the hidden dangers.

These unexploded landmines and explosives make life hard for many people in Syria. Not only do they kill and hurt children they make kids afraid to play outside or go to school. The problem isn’t just in one place it is everywhere and it makes life hard for everyone. Sadly many of these accidents happen because kids just stumble upon them when they are doing normal things.

UNICEF is asking the world to help with getting rid of the explosives across Syria. They need more help and money to make sure kids are not killed or hurt and the communities can be safe again. UNICEF believes it is really important to help people understand the risks and find ways to avoid more accidents.
