Donald Trump was set to be sworn in as the 47th President. The plan was for this to happen at the Capitol but because of really cold weather they had to move it inside. The oath taking was moved to the Capitol Rotunda instead. This change was announced pretty close to when it was all supposed to start.
A lot of people were supposed to be there over 250000 had tickets to watch from outside the Capitol. On top of that they thought tens of thousands more would be there hoping to see it. So yeah big crowds were expected showing that many people were really interested in this.
The news didn’t really get into why the weather was so bad they just talked about how the change messed with the event. They switched things up to keep everyone safe and comfortable. Moving the ceremony inside shows they were really thinking about everyone and making sure the day could still happen.
