The Jaridih Block Administration demolished a six-room house with a JCB on the encroached land of DPLR near Jainamod Fourlane Chowk on Monday, per the directives of the Directorate of Project Land and Rehabilitation Bokaro. In order to remove encroachment from the land, Junior Engineer Ranjit Kumar Ravani of the Minor Irrigation Department was assigned the role of Magistrate.
On the instruction of Bermo Sub-Divisional Magistrate Tenughat, JCB cleared the encroachment. When the encroachers were being removed, the administration encountered resistance from them as well. There had already been six attempts to remove the encroachment. Daughter showed up wearing a wedding gown and objected.
The home’s owner, Santosh Mahato, claimed that after traveling to Tupkadih Shiv Mandir with his family to attend his daughter Suman’s wedding, he unexpectedly learned that his home was going to be demolished. He completed the wedding ceremony after learning the news, but when he got home, the houses had been destroyed. He objected to this and everyone left in silence.
Suman also let her rage at the administration known when she arrived dressed like a bride. She questioned why our house had been demolished without any prior warning or communication from the local government or DPLR. As she watched her home being demolished, the 80-year-old homeowner repeatedly passed out on the spot.
After that, the elderly woman was taken to the hospital by the administration, who then called for an ambulance. Following this significant action against the encroachment, camp residents claim that the DPLR only harasses the poor and does not take any action against the wealthy.
