Dhanbad: 30 Tons of Illegally Mined Coal Seized on Highway

In Dhanbad, India, authorities seized a truck carrying around 30 tons of illegally mined coal. The seizure happened near the Maithon toll plaza on National Highway 19. This incident took place late Monday night, around midnight, in the Maithon OP area.

Reports indicate that the driver and conductor saw the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) approaching. Consequently, they left the truck, which had the license plate WB 59 B 4162, and ran away. The CISF found the truck full of illegal coal during a raid near Beliya village, close to the Kolkata-bound lane of the highway.

The truck’s original location is unknown. It was headed to an unidentified place before being stopped by authorities. Now, officials are working to find out where the coal came from and where it was going.
