Dhanbad News: Water Crisis Hits Dhanbad, 2 Lakh Residents Left Thirsty for Three Days with No Supply

Dhanbad: A large population of the city is thirsty for the last three days, but the drinking water department is still busy in connecting pipelines. There is no one at the call center of the drinking water department to tell when the water supply will be restored. A population of two lakhs is thirsty since Tuesday (January 23). Today is the third day. The drinking water department has not yet given information about whether there is a possibility of getting water on Friday or not. Let us tell you that water supply could not be achieved from nine water towers. Due to which people have to depend on alternative arrangements.

Pipeline is being connected
Let us tell you, for the last 3 days, the main rising water supply pipeline in 8 lane road Hirak Road is being connected to the urban pipeline by Jharkhand State Highway Authority (SAZ). Due to this, water supply could not be done from Golf Ground, Purana Bazar, Maniyatand, Matkuria, Dhowatand, Bhuda, Barmasia, Dhansar and Wasseypur Water Tower. Water is supplied to all these tanks from the first line.

Water supply from only ten water towers
Let us tell you, the Drinking Water Department supplies water to the urban areas of Dhanbad from 19 water towers. This water supply is done through two lines. Water is released from one line into 9 water towers and from the other line into 10 water towers. At present only one line is operational through which water is supplied. From this line, water supply is being provided from Gandhinagar, Steelgate, Hirapur, Memco Mod, Polytechnic, SNMMCH, Bhuli, Chiragora, Hill Colony and Police Line Jalminar.
