The Jamshedpur police station’s Bistupur station is where the 2011 FIR was filed. Classic Multiplex, the complainant, claimed that Jha had a deal with them to assign a store in the PM mall situated at Bistupur, Jamshedpur. The complainant stated they never received possession of the shop despite having paid Rs 20 lakh for it.
Asserting that the case was a civil dispute rather than a criminal matter, Jha had challenged the FIR in the High Court. In accordance with Jha’s argument, the High Court dismissed the FIR.
On February 8, 2024, Justice SK Dwivedi issued the directive. The court noted that there was no indication that Jha had committed any crimes and that the disagreement between the parties was solely civil in nature.
The police filed a final report in the case, which stated that no criminal case was made out, and the court took note of this as well. The court declared that the trial court had erred in allowing the case to be taken under its purview based only on the complaint.
