AITUC Hosts Tribute to Former MLA and Labour Leader Kedar Das

Trade union leader paid tribute to late trade union leader Kedar Das today in Jamshedpur.

Who is Kedar Das?

Comrade Kedar Das, is a former MLA from Jamshedpur three times. He belonged to Gumraha village in Bihar. Kedar Das was also trade union leader and was associated with CPI.

Kedar Das was arrested through Bihar Assembly. At that time there was no law to arrest MLA in the Assembly. At that time there was Shri Krishna Sinha’s government. This law was changed overnight and freedom was given to arrest Kedar Das.

The program started by paying tribute to comrades Hari Kalindi and Patrick Paul, who were martyred in the labor movement of 1958, at the Martyrs’ Altar near the Government Building, while the Smriti Sabha started with the presentation of democratic songs by the comrades of Jamshedpur Little IPTA under the leadership of Arpita.

The meeting was also addressed by bank union leader cum district executive member of AITUC Comrade Heera Arkane, local council secretary Satyendra Singh, Jharkhand unorganized labor union general secretary SK Ghoshal, Ramesh Mukhi and the labor movement not only within Jamshedpur but across the country. Emphasized the need to sharpen the Presided over by BN Singh.

In the end, Ambuj Kumar Thakur, Deputy General Secretary of AITUC District, expressed his gratitude while calling for labor unity and intensifying the movement against the bourgeoisie and announced the end of the meeting.
