The progress of the physical verification of applications received under the Sarkar Aapke Dwar program at the Panchayat level camps was reviewed and instructions were given to the officials to expedite the physical verification work.
More than 1.30 lakh applications have been received for the state-sponsored Abua Housing Scheme from all the blocks, out of which more than 90% of the beneficiaries have been verified. The DC instructed all the Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Circle Officers (COs) to expedite the verification of the applications and complete it 100% as soon as possible. He said that it is necessary to physically verify the applications within the stipulated time frame so that all eligible beneficiaries can avail the benefits of the Abua Housing Scheme.
Three-room houses to be built under the Abua Housing Scheme
The DC informed that under the ambitious scheme of the state government, ‘Abua Housing Scheme’, three-room houses will be constructed in a minimum area of 31 square meters, which will also include a clean kitchen. The houses will be registered in the names of the women of the family compulsorily. In case of death or absence of the woman, the house can be registered in the name of the head of the family.
The total assistance for housing per unit under the Abua Housing Scheme will be Rs 2.00 lakh in four instalments. There is a provision for providing assistance for toilet construction through convergence with Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBM) or any other dedicated source.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Piyush Sinha, and other district officials. Block officials also joined the meeting through VC, highlighting the comprehensive and inclusive approach of the scheme.
Instructions given by the DC
The DC instructed the officials to ensure that the physical verification of the applications is completed within the stipulated time frame. He also directed them to ensure that the houses are constructed as per the prescribed norms and specifications.
The DC expressed hope that the Abua Housing Scheme will go a long way in providing affordable housing to the poor and needy people of the district.
