What is Abua Aawas Yojna?
On November 15, former chief minister Hemant Soren introduced the plan to lodge the destitute and those who were not eligible for benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Beneficiaries of this flagship initiative would get Rs 2 lakh in four installments to build a three-room house gradually. Within a year, the construction will be finished, an official stated.
The plan also provides for funding to construct restrooms through the Swachh Bharat Mission Rural or by bringing together additional committed sources.
In the meantime, senior district officials met with Manjunath Bhajantri, the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum district, on Wednesday to discuss the current arrangements for the chief minister’s planned visit on Friday. During the chief minister’s visit, Bhajantri also gave the officials instructions to verify the beneficiary count, maintain peace and order, organise seating, and park cars.
