Jamshedpur News: NSS volunteers organize cleanliness drive in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: On Saturday, February 3, 2024, volunteers from the National Service Scheme (NSS) units 1, 2, and 3 of Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial College, Jamshedpur, organized a cleanliness drive in Bagbera, Somi Jhopri, and Harharguttu.

The volunteers collected and burned garbage, and also raised awareness among the villagers about the importance of cleanliness. The college principal, Dr. Ashok Kumar Jha, NSS program officers Arvind Prasad Pandit, Binod Kumar, and Dr. Sanchita Bhui Sen also participated in the cleanliness drive.

The event was supported by the deputy mukhiya, Mr. Santosh Kumar Thakur, and Mr. Rakesh Kumar. Around 115 volunteers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jha said: “The NSS is committed to community service, and this cleanliness drive is a part of our ongoing efforts to keep our surroundings clean and healthy. I urge all citizens to join hands with us in this endeavor.”

Mr. Pandit said: “The NSS volunteers are doing a commendable job by organizing this cleanliness drive. I am confident that this will inspire others to come forward and contribute to the cleanliness of our city.”

The villagers appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers and thanked them for their service.

The cleanliness drive was a success, and it helped to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness among the villagers.
