Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been urged by seasoned politician and Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy to confront the Enforcement Directorate head-on and not back down from an arrest.
The seasoned independent MLA Saryu Roy wrote on X to chief minister Hemant Soren following reports that the ED interview was allegedly ongoing in Delhi today. She advised him to “face ED boldly.” It’s not required to make an arrest while being questioned. Although it takes place during questioning, fear of being arrested is not an option.
Hemant Soren, the chief minister of Jharkhand, is purportedly being questioned by the ED team in Delhi on a money laundering case involving a purported Ranchi land fraud.
The ED team arrived at Hemant Soren’s Shant Niketan apartment in New Delhi early in the morning to question him, but they were unable to locate him until after 2:00 pm. Hemant Soren was allegedly untraceable for the ED.
Saryu Roy has also written to Hemant Soren on X, telling him that instead of avoiding the agency meeting and acting in a legal manner, he needs to formulate a political plan for dealing with the matter.
“You are Jharkhand’s chief minister.” Roy wrote in his tweet, “Living in concealment degrades the status of the Jharkhand chief minister’s position.”
