The competition was inaugurated on February 2 by Saraikela Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla. The tournament includes competitions in chess, tennis and yoga.
On the second day of the competition, February 3, the yoga (women) competition was held, in which 85 women students participated. During the competition, the institute’s director (in-charge) Professor R. V. Sharma briefly described the three methods of yoga. He said that yoga is a way of life. Yoga: Skill in action. Yoga is a system of medicine and yoga is a system of sadhana. In the sadhana system, he briefly informed about Maharshi Patanjali’s Ashtanga Sutra Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi.
The chess (boys and girls) and table tennis (boys and girls) competitions also started on February 2 and will conclude on February 4. 110 boys and 74 girls are participating in chess. 117 boys and 69 girls are participating in table tennis.
The competition will conclude on February 4, where the winners will be announced and awarded trophies and certificates. Colonel Dr. Nisith Kumar Rai, Registrar, KL Srivastava, Professor Ratnesh Mishra, Provost Roy etc. played a significant role in making the tournament a success.
