District officials in Jamshedpur got a heads-up about some tea stalls near Jubilee Park gate in Sakchi. Someone said these shops were putting drugs in the tea making people feel high. This really worried the people in charge so they decided to check it out.
The Dhalbhum SDO Shatabdi Majumdar and DC Ananya Mittal organized a raid first thing Friday morning. They wanted to see if the claims were true and do something about it if they were. They took this seriously because they wanted the area to be safe.
During the raid they gathered tea samples tea leaves and other stuff from the tea shops. Food officer Manjar Hussain was there when they took all of it. These samples are being looked at to figure out if there are any drugs in them. They are still trying to find out if the tea sellers were actually adding narcotics to drinks.
