In a shocking incident, a woman from a village in the Margomunda police station area has filed a complaint in the court of First-Class Judicial Magistrate Monica Prasad. The woman has accused nine individuals, including five men and their wives, of physically assaulting her, stripping her naked, and forcing her to drink a concoction. The victim claims that the accused labeled her as a witch and subjected her to the horrific ordeal.
According to the complainant, she is a homemaker residing in the village with her husband, while their sons live with their respective wives in separate households. The accused, including Haider Ansari, Meraj Ansari, Ajam Ansari, Jahir Ansari, and their wives, allegedly had a longstanding animosity towards her, consistently demeaning and insulting her by referring to her as a witch.
The victim narrated that the accused would verbally abuse her over trivial matters and resort to extreme violence at the slightest provocation. The situation escalated when, last month, a goat died at the home of one of the accused. Seizing the opportunity, the accused collectively accused the woman of practicing witchcraft, leading to a brutal assault where they allegedly stripped her naked, beat her mercilessly, and forced her to consume a mysterious potion.
Upon hearing her cries, villagers rushed to her rescue, preventing further harm. The incident has been registered for legal proceedings, and the court has initiated the hearing of the case. The victim’s allegations include accusations of physical assault, harassment, and false accusations of practicing witchcraft against the accused parties. The court will now investigate the matter and deliver justice based on the evidence presented.
